➔ Tsugino Chapter 1
Turn 2: Harmless to Man and Beast
Participants alive: 13
After what’s happened no one wants to stay in the hall any longer. It doesn’t take long for the next mail to arrive, reminding all participants that the next nomination turn starts in 60 minutes. The timer in the mail’s displaying 52 minutes now. Miki’s pretty upset about the outcome and wants to know from Hideaki why his plan failed. He promised that no one has to die as long as everyone would stick to his plan. So why was Nishino killed? That’s easy to answer. Someone in the group betrayed them and nominated Nishino instead of Hideaki but who’s that person? As Miki asks about that the corridor’s filled with silence.
It has to be X! A surprised look appears on Noboru’s face. Why does Miki know about X? Only Kana and him had access to the notebook in the computer room and they kept it a secret. After bringing up X Miki quickly tries to talk herself out of it by saying that it’s a rumor about the chain mail. A person known as X participates in the game and kills lots of people. This brings up the possibility that someone like that could be part of the group. Does that mean it could affect Hideaki’s plan? Since they don’t know if X is real or not it’s the best to calm down for now and not to cause any panic.
Noboru tries to ask Kana about it but…she isn’t here? Where did she go? Koharu saw her going away alone some time ago and assumed she has to use the toilet. Since she isn’t back yet Koharu and Noboru decide to look for her.
For some reason the floor in the corridor, in front of the toilet, is slippery which causes Koharu to fall. Noboru, trying to help her, loses his balance and ends up on top of her, accidentally grabbing her breast. Koharu’s misunderstanding the situation and thinks Noboru pushed her to the ground. If he wants to do ‘that’ with her she doesn’t mind because she doesn’t dislike him. It takes Noboru a few tries to find the right words but she finally understands that it was just an accident.
After standing back up Koharu checks the toilet but there isn’t any Kana. Where else could she be? Of course, the computer room they found earlier! With that in mind Noboru thanks Koharu for helping out and walks away.
As expected, Kana’s in the computer room, sitting on the floor and fiddling around with something. Is that one of the bracelets? How did she remove it? Kana explains that it’s dangerous to forcefully remove the bracelet because it contains a large amount of poison. According to her it’s a fast-acting poison and once you get injected with it it’s already too late. Since Noboru believes Kana managed to take off her own bracelet he’s all worried about her but it turns out it’s not hers. She tells him that she had to cut off Nishino’s wrist to obtain this bracelet which makes Noboru speechless. It can’t be helped. There wasn’t any other way to take a closer look at it.
So what did Kana find out? There’s the thing with the poison needle but there’s also a complex looking computer attached to the bracelet. They know that the bracelet’s connected with the nomination system but there’s a different function as well. An unknown function Kana wants to investigate further because it could be a chance to stop the game. More importantly, they have to tell the others about the poison in the bracelet so they don’t get themselves killed. Kana wants to pay Hideaki a visit but she also wants to go around and talk with everyone else.
Before they leave the room, Noboru tells Kana about the conversation that happened earlier. That Miki might know something about X and that Hidaki’s plan could have failed because X nominated Nishino. Since she doesn’t know if it’s true or not, Kana thinks it’s the best to not bring up Nishino’s bracelet in front of the others. If it turns out that there really’s a serial killer like X, Kana will surely become his next target if he finds out about her plan. ‘You better protect me, Noboru. Especially from X…’
Kana locks the door of the computer room to make sure that no one else enters said place.
Start of free time:
Let’s visit Miki und Kaede first!
Miki: “It’s Morisaki Noboru!”
Noboru: “Don’t call me by my full name”
Miki: “Why not? You dislike it?”
Noboru: “It’s kinda annoying…”
Miki: “Eh? How rude~”
Kana: “Hey, Morisaki Noboru. Don’t say that to a girl”
Noboru: “Not you too…”
Kana: “I just couldn’t resist”
Noboru: (Of course, Kana uses this opportunity to tease me. It’s always like that)
Kaede: “And? What’s the matter, Morisaki Noboru?”
Noboru: “For some reason I don’t mind when you’re saying it”
Kaede: “…That’s unfortunate”
Noboru asks Miki if she’s done arguing with Hideaki. She says it wasn’t a fight she just doesn’t share his opinion. One thing’s clear, no one would approve of such a killing game. Is that so? Jack comes to mind because it looks like he’s enjoying himself a lot in this situation but Kaede says that he isn’t exactly the problem. There’s something else bothering her. She asks Noboru and Kana what they think about Nishino’s death. The way he died was pretty cruel that’s for sure…
Kaede explains about seppuku and suicide assistant. When a samurai commits seppuku he doesn’t die right away so someone else beheads him to shorten his suffering. That wasn’t the case with Nishino, though.
Miki: “Japanese people sure are crazy”
Noboru: “Huh? You aren’t from Japan?”
Miki: “Nah, I’m Japanese but I’m British at heart. Bonjour~”
Talking with Kaede about Hideaki’s plan:
She thinks there’s no reason to be against his plan as long as everyone works together. But the mood has changes after Nishino’s death. Kaede’s worried about what the cop will do in the next turn. If he guards himself instead of Hideaki the plan fails once and for all.
—
Yuyu’s crying and Noboru and Kana think the killing game’s the cause for it. The truth is that Yuyu hates this place because there aren’t any flowers. Yes, that’s really the only reason she’s feeling down. Well, they can’t do anything about it because it’s impossible to find any flowers here. Noboru remembers that Tsumuji picked flowers for Haruka. Maybe she still carries them around with her? It’s worth a try! The elementary school students are in the dark office room with the big hole in the wall.
Kana: “Be careful you two. If you fall down there you will become all ‘smash smash bam'”
Noboru: “What’s with that sound?”
Kana: “That’s the sound two children make when they fall 200 meters and hit the ground. Smash smash bam!”
Haruka: “…smash smash bam?”
Kana: “Yeah, smash smash bam!”
Haruka: “Smash smash bam”
Tsumuji: “Don’t brainwash my sister!”
Looks like Haruka doesn’t mind giving away one of her flowers and receiving it cheers Yuyu up right away.
Meanwhile Kaoru’s back at the hall. Apparently she wants to examine Nishino’s corpse. There’s a pretty bad smell of blood in the air but Jack seems to like it. Why’s he in the hall anyway? All he does is harassing Kaoru and he starts including Kana and Noboru in his weird jokes as well. Giving the situation Kana warns Kaoru not to use violence because they don’t know what happens if they break the rules. They’ll be disqualified which could mean death. Noboru remembers his accident with Koharu and is glad that it didn’t count as using violence. Kaoru says that blood’s dripping out of Nishino’s nomination booth which wasn’t the case before they all left the hall. Someone must have opened and closed the door. She also ask why Kana’s shoes are wet but Kana quickly answer’s that she went to the toilet earlier and for some reason the floor was all slippery.
Since she’s investigating the ‘crime scene’ Noboru wants to know what kind of policewoman Kaoru is and she says she works in the traffic division. That’s surprising considering she’s wearing a gun and all. Looks like even the traffic division has to carry around a gun lately. Kana shows high interest in Kaoru’s gun asking her to lend it to her because she wants to dismantle it. Of course, the policewoman refuses to give such a dangerous thing away and Kana thinks about making her own gun. A laser gun to be more exact. It’s not that hard according to her. Kaoru and Noboru are both strongly against it.
After talking to everyone it’s time for the next nomination turn. There are only five minutes left so Kana and Noboru hurry to the hall. Once again Hideaki wants everyone to work together with him and asks if they are still okay with following his plan. Well, Jack never agreed on following it in the first place because it’s boring when no one dies. He would rather die in this killing game than sticking to this stupid strategy. ‘Then let’s just kill him, he’s probably the one who betrayed us anyway’ is what Miki says but Kaede tells her that talking like that would make her the most suspicious if Jack really happens to die. There isn’t any more time left to argue with Jack because the alarm goes off. Hideaki reminds everyone to nominate him and runs off to his nomination booth. Kana looks kind of worried because the possibility’s high that X kills the next person. Not that they can do anything about it if that really happens. They have to believe in everyone.
The moment the door closes behind him a feeling of uneasiness rapidly swells up in Noboru. Nishino’s execution happened in one of these nomination booths after all. Machine like arms came out from somewhere in here. Noboru’s asking himself if there’s a way to break the machine inside the booth but since that would make him unable to nominate it’s not such a good idea. He would be disqualified due to not nominating…
He tells himself that everything will work out. He believes in everyone. He won’t die, so won’t Hideaki. Everyone will stay alive…
Once again Noboru follows the instructions displayed on the monitor and the door locks itself. Everyone is on its own now. I’m not afraid. That’s what Noboru says to himself. I’m not afraid because Hideaki’s plan will work. I’m not afraid because I believe in everyone. I’m not afraid because everyone probably feels the same right now. I’m not afraid. Is that what everyone else’s thinking as well?
Still saying the same sentences over and over again Noboru finally selects Hideaki’s name and closed his eyes. His heart’s pounding louder than normal. After a while Noboru can hear the sound of his booth door being unlocked. Did everything go well? As he enters the hall Kana’s already waiting for him, yelling at him that it took him way too long to get out of the nomination booth. Looks like she’s really worried about him even if she would never admit it. Before they can look around and confirm if everyone else made it out safely a mail arrives. Noboru remembers the content of the last mail and panics. Does that mean someone’ll die?
I’ll let you know who the next victim is.
The next victim is…
…nobody.
What? Noboru looks at the words in surprice.
Since there isn’t any victim in this turn. No execution takes place.
No victims? Kana smiles at Noboru after she has finished reading the mail.
Hideaki: “phew…”
Keisuke: “The plan was a success”
Hideaki: “Yes, everyone thank you for your cooperation”
What a relief. Noboru feels a lot better now but Kana says it didn’t solve anything and just gained them some extra time. It’s not like they are out of danger now. Since this turn is over Kana wants to go back to the computer room to continue examining the bracelet. As long as they don’t know how to take off the bracelet they can’t escape this game. There has to be a way and Kana’s determined to find it.

Thanks for the comment and especially for reading my Tsugino posts! I didn’t get any feedback so far so wasn’t sure if people care about what I’m writing ahaha.
Sorry for the lack of updates. I was busy with other things in April/May and couldn’t get the next chapter done. I already started it and should be able to finish it next week.
Actually it’s the best to play the games in the right order but it shouldn’t be that much of an issue to play the second game without having finished the first one. As long as you don’t play the third game first because that one spoils everything early on and assumes you already know what happens in the first two games.
The Tsugino games are far from being perfect but I still enjoyed the games a lot. I’m glad to see that I got at least one person interested in it. Have fun playing!

yesss i love survival game stuff like this and i’m always looking for new ones, so i was really happy to find this! no worries about updating because i only saw these posts the day i commented (i was originally looking at the root double walkthrough, thanks for that as well lol)
i picked the second game to start with solely because i found it online for $10, but i’ll try to get the first one as well then! it’ll probably take me a while to get around to playing them anyway.
thank you for your hard work 🙂
